Working Principle of Condensate Pots

The working principle of a condensate pot is based on the fact that steam is a gas that occupies a much larger volume than the water from which it was formed. When steam comes into contact with a cold surface or a pressure-measuring instrument, it will condense back into the water, which can cause damage or inaccuracies in the instrument’s readings. By installing a condensate pot in the steam line before the instrument, the condensate is collected and separated from the steam, which prevents it from reaching the instrument. The condensate can then be drained from the pot via a drain valve.
